Major General (Retd) Farhat Abbas Sani is a former Pakistan Army officer and diplomat with extensive experience in institutional leadership. He served as Pakistan's Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam from 2022 to 2024.

During a distinguished military career spanning over three and a half decades, he held several senior command, staff, and instructional appointments. These included command of an Army Air Defence Division and a Logistics Area, as well as appointments as Director General of Army Air Defence, Director General of the Defence Export Promotion Organisation (DEPO), and Vice Chief of Logistics Staff (VCLS). He also served on the faculty of leading professional military institutions of the Pakistan Army.

Major General Sani holds advanced degrees in International Relations, Strategic Studies, and the Art and Science of Warfare. He is a graduate of the Command and Staff College, Quetta; National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad; and the United States Army War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He served as a United Nations Military Observer in Cambodia and was a member of the faculty at the Pakistan Military Academy, Kakul, and the Command and Staff College, Quetta. He also attended the National Security Workshop at the NDU and the Security Studies Course at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) in Hawaii, United States.

Following his diplomatic assignment, he assumed senior leadership roles in the business, technology, and logistics sectors. He is also pursuing a PhD in International Relations at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, and remains actively involved in supporting a family welfare foundation.

In recognition of his distinguished and meritorious military service, he was awarded the Hilal-i-Imtiaz (Military) in 2015.
